We are all safe. We never lost power at our hotel, thankfully.
Now we wait to see the extent of the damage. What we do know is that because the eye went south of us the hurricane pulled the water out into the gulf where we live. We were on the north side of the storm. This means the storm surge wasn’t extensive, in fact some of the videos we are seeing indicate the storm surge with Milton was less than Helene. We pray our roof held up and we don’t have a lot of wind damage. No one is being allowed on the island other than support personnel. We understand that there are downed power poles and lines. No power or water. I suspect it will be a few days until we are allowed to enter.
We have been following Anna Maria Island Dolphin Tours on Facebook. They live a few blocks from us and have been doing live videos. Very helpful. They took a boat onto the island for access.
Thank you for your continued love and concern for us, we truly appreciate it.
